MISSION
Our client’s mission is to impact the global culture of education and childhood by promoting the importance of play, creativity, and gender-nonspecific, open-ended activities. They do so by designing high-quality child-directed play products and spaces that are accessible to children of diverse abilities and backgrounds. 

POSITION OVERVIEW
They are seeking to hire an experienced and creative, entrepreneurial type Director of Marketing & Sales. This individual will be charged with the primary responsibility of developing and implementing a sale, marketing, and growth strategy designed to position as a leading provider of open-ended child directed play products and spaces. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
In collaboration with the current team, develop and implement a sales & marketing plan that supports the company’s growth plans over the next 3-5 years. The individual will be charged to:

Scaling sales, growth and marketing initiatives, setting priorities, and ensuring all systems are trending up over time. You will be growing the company's bottom line by working at the intersection of sales, technology, data, and marketing.

  • Formulating a strategic approach to value creation in education, consumer, and museum markets to achieve annual and long-term performance goals

  • Bringing together an internal team focused on sales and marketing with expertise in both education and consumer markets. 

  •  End-to-end ownership of our marketing channels across paid search, paid social, affiliate, SEO, email, and referral - you will be strategizing, prioritizing, and scaling these channels

  • Optimizing our education and museums sales funnels, amazon, and our website conversion funnel to maximize customer throughput and revenue growth

  • Develop and implement strategy to expand current international distribution channels and partnerships

  • Seek out and engage Community Foundations to support current  products access to young learners in public schools and STE(A)M focused organizations

  • Promote current  products in the international schools’ market

  • Act as an Ambassador of the company and its products in domestic and International markets

  • Identify and attend appropriate-product focused conferences and exhibits to promote products


    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of the company, with an interest in children, learning, creativity, and play

  • 5+ years of successful leadership experience in a creative, entrepreneurial environment focused on scaling an established start-up small business

  • Demonstrated success in team leadership, with a successful track record of recruiting, inspiring, and retaining a diverse, mission-driven team

  • Proven sales, and marketing development experience with strong data and analytical skills

  • Excellent coalition-building and consensus-building skills

  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to serve as a compelling ambassador with a variety of stakeholders

  • Experience managing internal operations and building structures and systems to
    ensure efficient use of resources

  • Keen analytical and strong problem-solving skills, in support of sound decision making

  • Knowledge of design, branding and marketing techniques
